KitchenAid Replacement Cap-Screw Parts

This was the exact part that I needed to repair my 35-40 year old Kitchen Aid stand mixer. The bowl wouldn’t stay securely in the base any longer. I was so glad I could replace this part rather than having to buy an entire mixer. I was skeptical that it would fit my mixer, but it did. I didn’t even need a rubber mallet — I just pressed firmly with my thumbs and it snapped right in. (I carefully lined up the screw holes before snapping it in.) My mixer works great now and I am very happy with the result. I am so grateful for the advice and answers to my questions from other reviewers who helped me make my decision. My Hobart K45 in avocado green was purchased in 1976. This part is a VERY tight fit in the mixer base. I installed it using a piece of scrap plywood that completely covered the plate. Tapping the plywood firmly with a hammer a few times forced it into the base. BE SURE to line up the screw holes beforehand and aim the hammer over the center of the locking plate.This exercise started when my wife recently bought a splash shield that did not fit the original bowl. Then I bought a new 5 qt. bowl with a slightly smaller rolled lip that fits the splash shield, but it was not securely held by the original lock plate. This plate completed the new setup, which we greatly prefer. However, the original 4.5 qt. bowl DOES NOT fit this plate.

Has a problem with the original hardware on my mixer. My bowl worms fly off if I didn’t hold it while it mixed anything too stiff like butter.
